Internet Enforcement

Our Internet Enforcement attorneys design, develop and implement comprehensive Internet enforcement and anti-piracy programs to combat the infringement and theft of clients' intellectual property on the Internet and the abuse of Internet resources by outsiders and customers.  Our group is comprised of former federal cybercrime prosecutors, in-house lawyers from ISPs and technology companies, CISSPs and certified computer forensic professionals.

We regularly advise clients on how to avoid liability arising from their own Internet practices.  We also file lawsuits against wrongdoers and employ creative techniques to accomplish our clients' enforcement and deterrence objectives, including taking over forums and Web sites formerly run by pirates, infiltrating underground networks, working with informants and culling leads from forensic evidence.

Sonnenschein's Internet Enforcement attorneys serve our clients by:

  • Devising and executing comprehensive anti-piracy strategies to disrupt and deter online infringers, combining Internet investigation and monitoring, litigation and criminal referrals, and nontraditional enforcement methods.
  • Filing complaints, injunctions and seizure orders against infringers, spammers, phishers, fraudsters and other Internet scofflaws.
  • Conducting "Knock-and-Talks"™ with piracy and hacking targets using draft complaints to achieve rapid out-of-court settlements.
  • Coordinating routine, large-scale deterrence projects using DMCA take-down notices, auction monitoring, demand letters, Web site takeovers, and domain name acquisitions.
  • Appearing before Congress and federal agencies, and tracking and providing comments on legislation concerning piracy or intellectual property.
